Medication Access and Refill Coordinator

The Medication Access and Refill Coordinator (MARC) will refill medications in a timely fashion according to the standing order and policy and procedure written by the Medical Director. I addition to that, MARC will be responsible for management of the Refill Desktop in the Electronic Medical Records, Refill Voicemail, Refill Direct Contact Phone Line, and will assist in managing Amoskeag Health Formulary Program/340B Program and Indigent Drug Program. The MARC will be responsible for maintaining relations with Contracted Pharmacy. MARC role will focus on comprehensive medication assistance services that meet the varying needs of Amoskeag Health patient populations as part of the Amoskeag Health commitment to promote reductions in health disparities for low-income individuals, racial and ethnic minorities and other underserved populations.

Qualifications:

Education: Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent medical training required.

Experience: Three years of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Assisting patients by processing requests for medication refills, however that request was received: via fax, call or a voice message; by means of and closely following Medication Refill policies and procedures.
-Responsible for timely management of Refill Voicemail and Refill Direct Contact Phone Line
-Responsible for maintaining in timely fashion Refill Desktop in accordance with standing orders and policies/procedures written by the Medical Director.
-Develops and implements pharmaceutical protocols/procedures for indigent drug and voucher programs.
-Responsible for monitoring and enrolling clients in indigent program(s) as appropriate. Includes completion of necessary paperwork for each pharmaceutical company (differs with each company); submission of form(s); acceptance of medication shipment; completion of forms; contact of client; monitoring and tracking.
-Responsible for maintenance of the 340 B list of medications and the resulting Medication Assistance Program available to clients, and being liaison with the pharmacy where the medication is dispensed.
-Maintaining relationship with Contracted pharmacy. MIS contact, phone calls, and drop offs.
-Works with the Medical Director and the MAC team to modify formulary as needed.
-Responsible for performing monthly 340B audits.
-Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
