Amphenol Printed Circuits (APC) manufactures and assembles rigid and flex printed circuit boards and connectors for communications and information processing markets, including data communication and aerospace and military electronics. We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented purchasing agent to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for Amphenol. This is an entry-level position working in supply chain and inventory management. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with great a work ethic, is responsible and dependable. Also needs to possess good judgement, be flexible, innovative and can adapt to changing needs and priorities. Looking for someone that works well independently while supporting the overall goals of the team. This position is responsible for accurate and cost effective procurement for delivery of products to support our Printed Circuit Board Fabrication and Assembly Businesses. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, working with inventory teams and management. The individual will work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchasing decisions based on demand and market conditions.

Responsibilities:

Manage suppliers for assigned commodities by negotiating price, delivery, quality and service levels with vendors.
The Buyer will be responsible for procuring materials in the appropriate quantities from qualified suppliers utilizing the ERP system.
Analyze MRP exception reports (pull, push, cancel) and reschedule previously released orders to respond to changes in the Master Production Schedule or customer demand.
Understands supplier reviews/evaluations for quality, on-time delivery, and cost competitiveness.
Verifies demand and compares standard cost/quoted job cost to the supplier pricing. Mitigates price increases, negotiates price decreases.
Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered and resolves shipment discrepancies from suppliers.
Pursue cost reductions and/or profit improvement through cooperative efforts with supply base.
Maintains inventory control by managing inventory levels of assigned commodities along with identifying and disposing of excess and inactive inventory.
Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements:

·         Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of 5 years work experience and education preferred.

·         Assertive, multi-tasking, team player capable of working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

·         Have a strong attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision.

·         Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of inventory control, purchasing and manufacturing/production planning.

·         Strong problem-solving capabilities, oral and written communication skills. Be able to work with all departments in a professional manner supporting other staff as needed.

·         Prior Supply Chain Management related experience is preferred.

·         Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills together with computer skills utilizing Word, Excel, Outlook.
