SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Our quality control inspector ensures compliance with all quality/food safe handlings standards during receiving, storage, returns and shipment of all perishable products in accordance with the USDA/FDA standards and AGNE policy.
This a full-time, non-exempt position with the following schedule: Monday thru Thursday 4:30am- 1:00pm and Friday 3:30- 12:00pm.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Inspect inbound produce for compliance to AGNE’s quality guidelines.
Inspect all other inbound perishable product for compliance with temperature and date guidelines.
Review inhouse products for quality, temperature and rotation.
Communicate regularly with purchasing managers as to quality of specific vendor’s products.
Communicate regularly with Facility Manager on physical warehouse conditions or issues.
Act as warehouse recall coordinator.
Maintains records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines.
Direct contact for government regulatory agencies including USDA and FDA.
Review all perishable returns for appropriate disposition.
Develop and implement food safe handling policy and procedures.
Develop and over see food safe handling training.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Must have extensive produce product knowledge including floral.
USDA produce quality training.
Minimum of 5 years of wholesale or retail produce experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. This includes both oral and writing skills.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
Ability to travel within the market area.
