We are seeking a hands-on Controller for our small, growing construction company, located near Salem, NH. This position is part of the senior management team and will be involved in many aspects of the company. This is not a remote position but there is schedule flexibility.
Responsible for working closely with the current Controller to learn all aspects of the job, in order to take over the reins. Oversee all accounting department functions and staff, monitor contracts and insurance requirements, maintain banking and financial relationships. Oversee human resources compliance and work with the legal department and outside IT consulting firm, as needed.
Must have outstanding accounting, communication, organizational, planning, managerial and MS Excel skills. Accounting software skills are required. Sage 300/Timberline, Crystal Reports and or QuickBooks is a plus.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least two years’ experience in a public accounting firm is required. CPA license is not required. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting out of public accounting to step into a Controllership. Experience in construction or real estate and/or knowledge of public utility accounting and experience working with the NH Public Utilities Commission is a plus but not required.
