
City of Nashua
PRIMARY DUTIES: Performs assessment and appraisal of complex, residential properties. Organizes information based on building permit activity. Performs data verification of residential properties. Calculates property values utilizing assessing software. Verifies data of sold properties and enters related info into assessing software. Processes residential abatement applications and makes recommendations to Chief Assessor and Board of Assessors. Assists in training of Assessor I and data collectors. Position is full time, Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Grade 12, Salary dependent upon experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in a municipal assessing department, real estate, or title examination/insurance office preferred. A college degree, plus specialized appraisal and assessment courses and instruction through IAAO or Appraisal Institute, and NHAAO. Courses include USPAP, IAAO Course 101, Course 102, and NH State Statutes Parts I and II. Certification by NHAAO as an Assessor. Approved as a Certified Assessor by New Hampshire DRA. Must have 2,000 hours of appraisal experience, plus 50 hours of continuing education credits every four years for recertification. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
