PRIMARY DUTIES: Manages self-funded benefits programs to include billing, day-to-day administration, open enrollment, benefits education, Intra and Internet benefits website, compliance, claims resolution, change reporting, and budget management. Ensures compliance with State and Federal legislation. Establishes and leads employee and retiree health programs. Analyzes benefits cost and value, recommends cost containment strategies, and ensures accurate, timely, cost effective benefit administration. Maintains in-depth knowledge and expertise in Employee Benefits. Supervises two employees; reports to Director of Administrative Services. Position is full time, Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Grade 15, salary dependent upon experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires extensive knowledge of Benefits administration equivalent to completion of a relevant degree from a 4 year accredited institution and five to seven years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related certification preferred. Proven HRIS literacy (Lawson preferred). Ability to work independently and create efficient and, where applicable, automated processes for the Human Resources department. In addition to handling multiple tasks, skills should include analytical/math skills, strong written/verbal communication skills and project and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle difficult situations in a professional and expedient manner.
