POSITION:                              Print Services Specialist

DEPARTMENT:                     Purchasing

HOURS WORKED:               Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

AFFILIATION:                        UAW CT

SALARY & GRADE:              Grade 8, wage dependent upon experience

PRIMARY DUTIES

This position produces copied documents and graphic printed material to support all City departments. Duties include but are not limited to layout, copying and assembly required to create and produce forms, booklets, business cards, letterhead, report, brochures and other copied material. This position will manage paper and envelope inventory for Print Shop and City departments, manage the maintenance of print shop equipment (copiers, cutting machines, folding machine, binding machine). This position has back-up responsibilities to include mail distribution and processing, purchase requisitions/orders and change orders generated in our Lawson system and other miscellaneous duties for the Purchasing Agent II and the Mail Clerk during any absence (with the exception of any bidding procedures).

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma; 1 to 3 years similar or related work experience. Must have knowledge and skill in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Windows, MS Professional Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) and Adobe PageMaker; must be able to learn and use all database/software application relevant to the Purchasing Department including Lawson software within thirty (30) days of acceptance of this position. Completion of courses and experience in interpersonal skills, communications and customer service skills. Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a good driving record and knowledge of the City. Must have a high level of initiative, sense of responsibility and ability to work without direct supervision.
