PRIMARY DUTIES: First level support person for citywide technical support/helpdesk. Position will complete hardware and software installations, repairs, upgrades, and troubleshooting of software applications, personal computers, peripherals, printers, multi-function equipment, tablets and mobile devices.  Responsibilities also include providing basic network support and administration, and VOIP telephone system support including set up, maintenance and troubleshooting. Support includes multiple citywide locations and may require travel within the city. Position is full time, Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.

QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in MIS/Computer HW, CIS, IT or CS and/or minimum of one (1) year related work experience; combination of experience and education will be considered. Microsoft Operating System and Office Suite Training; Comp TIA A+ and/or Net + highly preferred; must possess technical knowledge of PC Operating Systems, including Microsoft Windows Client (latest version) and working knowledge of networks; hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as PCs, printers, MFPs, scanners, and other peripherals; possess a good working knowledge of current protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and WINS; possess application support experience with third party applications; knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles; experience installing and troubleshooting network cabling; strong customer service skills; ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating needs assessments, project budget estimates, and so on; able to conduct research into PC and peripheral issues and products as required; possess good written, oral, listening, and interpersonal communication skills able to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language; must be highly motivated and directed and display keen attention to detail; possess ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations; proven analytical and problem-solving abilities; experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; must have valid driver’s license.
