PRIMARY DUTIES: Provides direct supervision and oversees work assignments of collection system staff, mechanics, electrical diagnostic technicians, operations staff, wastewater assistants, and seasonal employees. Responsible for the operation and preventive and corrective maintenance within a 16 MGD Secondary Wastewater Treatment Facility, satellite pump stations, citywide sewer system, Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO), Flood Control Station, catch basins, drains, and culverts.  This position is also responsible for coordinating hazardous waste collection/disposal, hazardous waste training and emergency response activities. Position is full time, Monday through Friday 6:45 AM to 2:45 PM. Hourly rate not to exceed $36.56.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school degree plus 2-3 years of schooling in Environmental Sciences or Wastewater Technology, mechanical or technical studies, and/or General Science and Mathematics courses. Minimum of 5 to 8 years of similar or related work experience. An AAS degree is a plus. Experience considered in lieu of education.  Hazardous Waste, Wastewater Treatment Grade 2 Operators Certificate – NH, and Grade 2 Collection System Certification required.  Must receive a minimum or two (2) CEUs every two (2) years. Must be able to use personal computers, printers, SCADA Computer System and other software applicable to position.
