POSITION:                               Summer Intern – Engineering (2 positions)

DEPARTMENT:                      Public Works / Engineering Department

HOURS WORKED:                Mon-Fri (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), 40 hours/week

STARTING SALARY:            $17.00/hour

PRIMARY DUTIES: The Engineering Department of the Public Works Division is seeking to hire two (2) Civil or Environmental Engineering students to assist the staff in Public Works improvement projects and work associated with the daily functions of the Department, especially related to roadways, sidewalks, and drainage and wastewater systems. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, surveying, AutoCAD drafting, research, design, calculations, permitting, field investigations, GIS data collection/edits, and records management.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be full time student pursuing a BS degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering; coursework in surveying, GIS, water/wastewater, environmental and roadways preferred; must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
