POSITION:                         Engineering Intern – Summer 2022

DEPARTMENT:                 Public Works / Engineering Department

HOURS WORKED:           Mon-Fri (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) 40 hours/week

STARTING SALARY:        $15.00 to $17.00/hour, depending on credits completed


The Engineering Department of the Public Works Division is seeking to hire a Civil or Environmental Engineering student to assist the staff in Public Works improvement projects and work associated with the daily functions of the department. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, surveying, AutoCAD drafting, research, design, calculations, permitting, field investigations, GIS data collection/edits, and records management, especially related to sidewalks, curb ramps, and drainage and wastewater systems.


Must be full time student pursuing a BS degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering; coursework in surveying, GIS, water/wastewater, environmental and roadways preferred; must have experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel and be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
