PRIMARY DUTIES: Assist the staff at the Wastewater Treatment Facility in a variety of work associated with the daily functions of the department. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, performing chemical and bacteriological testing of wastewater samples; maintaining written records of analysis; preparing reagents and standards to be used within the laboratory; collecting samples throughout the Facility and the local watershed; and working with local watershed monitoring groups. Additional tasks may include research, design, calculations, field investigations and documentation especially related to the drainage and wastewater systems.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age; enrolled in a college science degree program; laboratory experience preferred; must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Interest in some light engineering and/or storm water is a bonus. Must have experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
