POSITION: Public Health Nurse – Part Time
DEPARTMENT: Community Health
HOURS WORKED: 20-24 hours/week, Hours vary
GRADE: $38.44 per hour
This position conducts public health nursing care including communicable disease investigations and surveillance, lead case management, and clinic services such as immunizations, disease counseling and testing. Conducts community education, presentations and outreach activities on applicable health topics. Works with local and state health care providers and public health professionals on various public health initiatives including immunizations, sexually transmitted diseases, tuberculosis, emergency preparedness and public health re-accreditation. Performs other duties as directed by the Chief Public Health Nurse.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience. Must have NH Registered Nurse License. Knowledge of public health initiatives, disease investigations, case management, and counseling. STD, capillary blood tests and phlebotomy skills preferred, but will train. Ability to efficiently train to competency with EMR and multiple databases. Excellent communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese preferred. Knowledge of platforms such as Microsoft Office and Google. Must have a valid driver’s license.
