Assistant Instructor

Website Girls at Work

Empowering girls with tools for life.

Calling all Changemakers!

Girls at Work, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit located in Manchester, NH, is expanding and we are looking to add Assistant Instructors to our team! Our woodworking programs empower girls through building but you don’t need experience in woodworking to apply – we’ll teach you! If you love the idea of empowering girls, challenging them to think critically, and have the desire to be a part of the solution, of building powerful girls/women, we’d love to meet you!

We pride ourselves in having built a welcoming environment that

encourages girls to believe in themselves, even on their most

difficult days. Our Socratic approach to building enables us to

train interested individuals – even those who are not

woodworkers – on how to teach in our workshops. Our goal is

to teach the girls to use power tools safely while encouraging

them to think critically about how each project is built. The

experience of building with power tools elevates

self-confidence and self-esteem which leads to a new

narrative for our girls, one of strength and courage. Because when girls learn how to build with power tools, they come away with more than skills in woodworking—they come away empowered for life.
