HP Hood, one of the largest branded dairy operators in the U.S. for over 170 years is seeking a Lab Technician  to join our Quality Department in it’s Concord, NH operation

Shift: 9am-5:30pm ( Sunday and one rotating day off)

Job Function:

As a member of the Quality Assurance Laboratory Team for the Concord manufacturing facility you will perform routine bacteriological and chemical testing of dairy and juice products. You will also work with other departments to insure all company and regulatory standards are met.

Essential Functions:

Follow standard procedures and detailed instructions.
Obtain samples for testing from containers, tanks and vats in the manufacturing facility
Testing of raw materials and finished product
Operate and maintain lab equipment
General lab preparation
Observe and accurately record details
Maintain State Lab Certification program for Appendix N testing
Utilize various computer applications to calculate and input data
Adhere to all safety regulations
Complete all work before shift closes
Job Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required
1-2 years of lab experience preferred
Strong math and computer skills, specifically MS Excel, Office and Outlook
Multi-tasked individual
Strong communication skills, detail oriented, solid decision making, ability to work independently with little supervision
Working Conditions:

Factory environment
Varying noise and heat levels
Responsibilities allow occasional opportunity for varying work routine
Physical Demands:

Ability to move through all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production and warehouse environments, including the outside perimeter of the building
Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions
Able to stand continuously to perform job functions for a full shift with meal break
Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle, move, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
Visual acuity corrected to perform job functions
SQF Requirements/Responsibilities:

Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner. Monitoring of incoming goods
Monitoring of incoming services
Corrective and Preventative Action program
Maintaining the Finished Product and Raw Material Release program
Conducting Mock Recalls
Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Serve as a backup for other lab technicians and the QA Manager when needed.
