JOB SUMMARY

**SIGN ON BONUS $250**

Parent Aides are professionally trained individuals who provide supervision between children in NH’s child welfare system and their biological parents. Parent Aides become a role model to parents who need help parenting their children and dealing with life’s daily challenges.

LOCATION – Manchester, NH and Claremont, NH

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Work directly with children, families, and foster parents to provide supervised visitation services.
Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and competence in working with families from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic levels, and lifestyles.
Provide support and encouragement to biological parent(s) whose children are in foster care.
Role model safe and appropriate parenting skills.
Provide transportation and supervision services for child(ren).
Provide opportunities for community-based therapeutic recreation.
Maintain accurate, organized, and up to date record keeping.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

An Associate Degree is required
Experience working with children and families required
Experience in Domestic Violence Effects on children/family preferred
Experience in Substance Abuse – Identifying triggers of relapse, effects of drug abuse on children/family, etc., preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with children and families

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to use a computer; expertise in Word and Excel; familiarity with other Microsoft Office products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Must demonstrate strong moral/ethical ability
Actively involved with sharing ideas and creative solutions                                                                              Hold a valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record
