Methuen Construction Company is seeking Project Engineers either starting out their career or having experience in water/wastewater treatment, or other heavy industrial process systems to support, maintain and facilitate the profitability and schedules of projects under construction and jobs to bid. The individual in this position will provide assistance to the Superintendents and Project Managers by facilitating the successful execution of the project.

Essential Functions

Shop drawing review
Resolving design conflicts with AE/Owner
Developing submittal and change orders
Solicitation and evaluation of prices from vendors and distributors
Purchasing permanent project materials
Control of document distribution
Log PO’s, subcontracts, insurance certificates and correspondence
Tracking fabrication and delivery of product and equipment
Keep accurate notes, records, sketches, daily reports, field books, and sketches to describe and verify the planned work as well as the completed work that they will incorporate in the project’s record documents
Follow all Company Policies/Procedures regarding security, discrimination & harassment-free environment, compliance to Code of Ethics, Business Conduct

Position Type
This is a full-time exempt position

Travel is primarily local during the business day, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 20% travel expected

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or other related degrees
0-3 years of experience in a similar role
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Prompt and accurate judgment abilities a must
Excellent time management skills are essential
Skill in the use of Windows based personal computers in application of Microsoft Office Professional
Personal commitment to team environment, safety, customer satisfaction and quality control
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 25 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance and stoop, reach on a regular basis
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
