A 40+ year-old, small, family-owned manufacturing company

The person in this position has direct responsibility for the Monarch Instrument Product Quality Assurance and maintenance of the ISO 9000 Quality System. S/he is responsible for all aspects of the Quality Assurance Department.

Previous Education/Experience

-Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
-Minimum of 5 years QA and inspection experience
-Knowledge of components, solder standards and other electronics assembly criteria is required
-Minimum of 5 years in a managerial position
-Knowledge of manufacturing processes
-Intimate familiarity with ISO 9001 standard
-Familiarity with 17025 standard highly desired

Job Responsibilities (E=Essential Function)

This individual will play a large role in ensuring Company quality needs are met and must be able to resolve issues with minimal guidance. The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager include, but are not limited to the following:

E: ISO Management Representative: Responsible for registration and maintenance of the Company’s ISO Quality System. Perform or direct internal audits to ensure compliance; schedule and facilitate Management Review Meetings. Submit audit findings, or facilitate meetings to maintain registrar validation of ISO System.

E: Maintain the Quality Management System including: document control, performance tracking, statistical analysis of performance and recommendations for improvement. Write/edit or assist in facilitating of revising/updating procedures as necessary.

E: Track performance to quality guidelines and manufacturing specifications of subcontracted suppliers and internal departments. Perform vendor audits as required and manage MRB.

E: Ensure appropriate adherence to procedures to ensure that consistent results are obtained by following procedures as specified.

E: Manage the internal Corrective and Preventive Action process, including tracking trends, issuing, analyzing product or performance discrepancies [for specific deviation and root cause in materials or processes for non-conformance] and tracking to completion.

E: Coordinate and respond to all external Corrective and Preventive Actions.

E: Ensure compliance of established quality and reliability levels by analyzing data and product specifications, and other activities as needed.

E: Pro-actively ensure quality is paramount in all aspects of the quality cycle: design, production & Customer Satisfaction.

E: Ensure that customer and supplier quality issues are resolved in a timely fashion, to the customer’s satisfaction [as much as possible].

E: Oversee quality auditors engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, products and procedures.

E: Ensure in-house measuring, inspection and test equipment is calibrated to appropriate specifications.

E: Ensure that all documentation, and related logs, are up to date and correct per quality system procedures.

E: Promote, and engage in, an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork.

– Perform quality inspection duties on materials and products both internally and at vendor locations to ensure quality standards are met.
– Ensure all legal and regulatory standards are identified and met through collaboration with the Design and Development Team.
– Organize and train on topics related to ISO, product quality and reliability in partnership with the Human Resources Department.
– All other duties as assigned.

Accountability and Reporting:

This position reports to the Chief Administrative Officer with dotted line reporting to the President for ISO Representative duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Encourage safe work practices from all employees. Supervise Quality Inspectors (Incoming, In-Process, Final).
