Staff Hunters is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for a client in the Seacoast of New Hampshire on a direct hire basis.
SUMMARY

Experienced Mechanical Engineer needed to develop innovative consumer electronics.  Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team driving products through their Lifecycle stages of concept generation, component and assembly development, testing, implementation, and production.  Candidate must have strong problem solving and analytical skills and be able to learn quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION

B.S. Mechanical Engineering
Master’s Degree is a plus
EXPERIENCE

5 – 8 years’ Mechanical Design Engineering for product development
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Experience with Product Development Lifecycle and associated documentation
Strong understanding of Engineering Fundamentals
SolidWorks CAD (FEA is a plus)
Familiar with shared data management tools such as EPDM, SharePoint, etc.
Proficiency in Mechanical Drafting, GD&T and Tolerance Stack Up Analysis
Design for Manufacturability and Assembly
Experience with various Manufacturing processes (Injection Molding, Machining, Sheet Metal/Stamping, Welding, Fastening, Automation, etc.)
Design experience with user interfacing products is a plus (i.e. Consumer Electronics, Medical Device)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly motivated, focused on results and detail oriented
RESPONSIBILITIES

Generate creative solutions to design problems and demonstrate their feasibility in areas such as performance, risk, reliability, manufacturability, assembly, cost, serviceability and weight
Transition concepts into products using 3D CAD Solid Modeling, selecting materials and manufacturing processes, prototyping and testing, interacting with suppliers, and documenting the development process
Prepare and present Engineering data for Design Reviews
Create and maintain product Bills of Materials
Transact Engineering Change Orders
Troubleshoot design failure modes to root cause and develop quick, effective solutions
Collaborate with cross sector team members including Electrical, Software, Industrial Design and Supply Chain
Provide Engineering support to Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and Production
