No nights, holidays or weekends when cooking with us. Hours are Monday -Friday, 6 am – 12 pm – 1 pm, depending upon menu. You have the afternoons to yourself. Positions are more than just a position when working with SCNS. We have 350-500 clients each day counting on us to supply each of them with a nutritious meal filled with flavor and love.

We are seeking to fill a kitchen manager’s position for a current employee who would like to retire after 26 years of service. You will train with current supervisor to learn our procedures for bulk cooking, while sharing your experience along the way. The Kitchen manager’s position requires, but is not limited to:

Individual will be responsible for daily operations which includes, accurate record tracking, inventory tracking, ordering and substituting for meal deliveries may be needed
Responsible for providing quality, nourishing, from-scratch meals, whenever possible, according to organization established policies and procedures
Must have the ability to create and promote a positive working environment with employees and clients
Candidate must adhere to organizations standard operating procedures for sanitation and food code requirements and be able to ensure employees follow SOP as well
Considered candidate will train, monitor and reinforce safe and sanitary working environment, at all times, in a fast paced working environment
Individual will assist in creative menu planning and have the ability to follow organization recipes, portioning and presentation standards in a sanitary and timely manner in a fast paced environment
Must be able to operate kitchen equipment safely, efficiently and clean & maintain such equipment according to safety procedures and sanitation guidelines
Must be able to work with other site locations in a positive manner and travel to other sites as necessary
Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stretching, lifting up to 50 lbs., dish washing, sweeping, mopping and ability to work in the heat
Must be able to communicate with Executive Director & Food Service Manager openly, honestly and with a positive attitude
