We need relationship-focused people to be Family Support Specialists in the Healthy Families America program, a nationally recognized Evidence-Based Practice.  Family Support Specialists provide education, coaching, and support to prenatal and parenting families with children up to age three.  The HFA model provides best practice support/techniques with regular skilled reflective supervision and coaching. Through community-based home visiting, Family Support Specialists, impact parent/child interactions – optimizing social-emotional and physical development of children while working in partnership with schools, state agencies, medical providers, and other social service agencies.

Minimum Requirements:

BS or BA degree with 1 to 2 years of home visiting, infant/toddler development, and parenting education experience is preferred.
Equivalent experience and new grads will be considered with the right candidate.
High Attention to detail with the ability to complete paperwork accurately, timely, and effectively
Excellent verbal, written, and face-to-face communication skills.
Compassionate and empathetic to vulnerable families and individuals
Passionate to coach, help, mentor, and support struggling new families
Must be able to pass a criminal background check with no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation
Valid Driver’s License with Auto Insurance that meets the required liability minimum coverage of $50,000/$100,000

Abilities Needed:

Ability to respect clients from a variety of backgrounds and situations.
Ability to keep good records and write treatment plans.
Ability to manage complex cases.
Ability to travel within the state to provide home visits with possible transportation of clients and family to and from.
Ability to collaborate with peers, Leadership, and the Team for Program changes or case-related client care.
Be flexible with your schedule to meet your family’s needs.
